This rose was a labor of love! The rose petals were all individually made from fondant and painted with luster dust. The middle of the rose is one piece, but the outside petals were all placed into the cake individually. The cake was a vanilla bean cake with a bavarian cream flavored buttercream. The cake was a 6" dome shape, made by baking the cake in an aluminum mixing bowl!

Fondant Fun

After making the farm animals and some fondant pieces for a camping cake, I think I am addicted! In the past I have stuck with the buttercream basics, but now I can't look back.
My daughter was having a party at school today, knowing there would be cake that she couldn't eat because of the gluten......she asked me to make her a cake that all the teenage girls would enjoy. The cake was gluten free butterscotch with champagne buttercream! I look forward to hearing how the kids liked it! The black leopard spots were hand painted on the fondant.

Farm Cake

I have been blessed to collaberate with an old friend, here is a farm cake that we did together!

Catching up

SO, I sure have been busy and haven't had the time to upload any photos! I plan on catching up today.
This cake with the cherry blossoms was a chocolate chocolate chip cake with my new favorite......champagne buttercream!
The second cake was chocolate with fudge and cream cheese icing.
